Travels in Asia 1991:Singapore and our Indonesian Wedding

In 1991 Kevin and I ran off for a planned elopement in Indonesia.  We flew into Singapore and
then island hopped from Sumatra to Bali to Kalimantan (Indonesian Borneo) and Java.

Travels in Asia 1992: Japan

Taking advantage of some recently returned Japanese friends, we decided to visit this well known
but surprisingly enigmatic country.  Fish-on-a-stick anyone?

Travels in Asia 1993: Taipei, Taiwan overland to Karachi, Pakistan

(Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao, PRC, Tibet, Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan)

After Kevin graduated we took off on a six month jaunt in Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
Somehow, while on the road, this evolved into an attempt to overland as far as we could go.

While bad sailing weather and middle eastern boarder paranoia forced us to fly to, from and

through the Arabian peninsula, we did overland from Taipei, Taiwan to Karachi, Pakistan and

from Asmara, Eritrea to Cape Town, South Africa.

Travels in Asia 1995: Malaysian Borneo, Brunei and Sumatra

Somehow we never could last an entire English winter.  So for Christmas 1995 we
convinced a UK friend and three from the States to all fly 1/3 the way around the

world and meet up with us at the Rex Food Court in Sibu, Sarawak, East Malaysia.

Much wacky hijinks then ensued.

Travels in Asia 1996: Oxford to Singapore, overland

(Uzbekistan, Khirgistan, Kazakhstan, Western China, Viet Nam, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia)

After finishing up with our stay in the UK in the Fall of '96 we had planned on overlanding from
Oxford to Melbourne, Australia.  Unfortunately the Chinese-run ferry from Bali to Darwin went

belly-up (figuratively, not literally) just as were were to leave thus forcing us to fly from Asia to

Darwin, Northern Australia.  Still, Oxford to Singapore is a heck of a long way.

Cambodia 2006: Cambodia

After a decade away a biophysics meeting in Singapore affords Kevin a quick visit to Cambodia.
